actually, megan, i didn’t suggest “a fine balance.” it might have been kirsten. i suggested “the music room” by mcfarland. but i’m glad you’re enjoying it. i wasn’t crazy about beast moans, e. i like the destroyer contributions, but overall it just seemed a little brittle to me. seth, come over anytime and i’ll give you lots of suggestions.

i took your suggestion and am reading A Fine Balance. SOOOOO good. Can’t put it down. I’m nearly done and it’s only been one week of reading.

So, I took your Brand New suggestion. Thank you for making it. And thank the Good Lord for our library around these parts, because I’m not sure I really like it and am glad I didn’t spend cashola to listen to it. There are portions that remind me of The Wrens (really good), Pedro the Lion (pretty good), and…Kid Rock (gag me with a spoon). I’ve given it 3 listens. Will it sound substantially better after 5? 6? 10? Don’t get me wrong, there are some really strong elements. I’m just not catching up with the soft acoustic harmonizing right into a whiney shriek thing. But goodness, I want to get it! Help my lack of getting it! In other news, “Broom” by Somebody still loves you Boris Yeltsin is entertaining and I really like Swan Lake’s “Beast Moans,” both of which were courtesy of iTunes gift cards. I feel like Ananias and Saphira around Christmas time: I want to give rather than receive. But if I get anything I reeeealy want, I spend it immediately so no one can take it away or suggest I put it to more charitable use. Thank you for letting me confess it.
